What I've done as Wiki coordinator (2023-2026)[edit | edit source]
Adding content to pages[edit | edit source]
- Added an annotated bibliography and images to the East Asian Scrolls page
- Added a video and pdf with how-to instructions to make digital fills
Breaking up pages[edit | edit source]
- Broke down the BPG Support Problems into its own support formats:
- Non Paper Supports
- Asian Papers
- Western Papers previously known as the Paper Supports page
- Composite Structures
- Unusual Paper Supports
- Info in this page needs to be moved elsewhere and this page needs to be deleted (see discussion tab)
- Playing around with the idea of breaking up Adhesives and Adhesives recipes and tips into separate pages:
Pages I've created[edit | edit source]
- Lead white: work in progress (slowly but surely!)
- Template:Archived
- Template:Adhesives
Big plans for the BPG Wiki as a whole[edit | edit source]
- Changing all the spanid to being references instead
- Remove all contributor initials
- Sentence capitalization for all pages except page title
- Change "wiki" to "Wiki" everywhere appropriate
- Create pages/sections/categories about solvents and water (deionized vs distilled etc.)
- Each page needs to have a little description at the very top
Paper pages that could be fixed up[edit | edit source]
A lot of efforts have gone into a lot of different BPG pages over the last few years. Where are we at now?
| Page | To-do |
| BPG Adhesives | big project will be to break up into individual pages, see its discussion tab |
| BPG Adhesive Recipes and Tips | move info to individual adhesive pages, then archive? |
| BPG Written Documentation | bibliography needs links |
| BPG Fiber Identification | fix spot test links |
| BPG Spot Tests | will be a big formatting project: could maybe be broken up into two pages instead, see Talk, work with other SGs to make it a broader AIC thing? |
| BPG Selection for Preservation | archive this page? |
| BPG Imaging and Digitization | link to imaging wiki |
| BPG Matting and Framing | needs new photo scans |
| BPG Mold | needs reformatting, remove indents |
| BPG Media Problems | I think it should be renamed "Media" or "Media on paper" |
| BPG Surface Cleaning | cosmetic sponges |
| BPG Washing | update with 2026 art on paper discussion? |
| BPG Humidification | needs to be compared to literature and updated (humidification classifications) |
| BPG Consolidation, Fixing, and Facing | needs photos, header names could be improved |
| BPG Backing Removal | could be reorganized |
| BPG Mending | could be reorganized |
| BPG Filling of Losses | could benefit from recent references and annotations for bibliography |
Non-paper pages that could be fixed up[edit | edit source]
- Help:Getting Started : fix up? add link to contributor's toolbox?
- Health & Safety: From Cradle to Grave: Waste Management for Conservators - MediaWiki formatting headers and whatnot
- Book pages that need help with photos:
- BPG Sewing and Leaf Attachment remove the weird "enlarge" thing
- BPG Book Decoration make images bigger (break down this page into multiples?)
- BPG Fastenings and Furniture general formatting, making things left-justified and somewhat the same size
Handy Dandy Links[edit | edit source]
- IWG Content policy
- AIC posters (annoying link that doesn't seem to want to work)
