Imaging Wiki 2.0[edit source]
This project started in summer 2025 to coordinate the efforts to review, reorganize, and modernize the contents on the IWG Wiki. Read the community post Big, juicy IWG Wiki update for a detailed origin story of this project. Through this initiative, the IWG aims to meet the benchmarks of content accuracy, navigation, accessibility, and community engagement. To achieve this, the activities operate on three different levels: content, semantic structure, and process:
Content activities
- Review and update all existing imaging pages for accuracy and clarity.
- Identify and address content gaps, redundancies, and outdated terminology.
- Improve media management, attribution, and supporting documentation.
UX & structural activities
- Restructure the taxonomy for clearer navigation and topic hierarchy.
- Improve templates, cross-linking, accessibility, and page layout consistency.
- Enhance discoverability through better categories, indexing, and metadata.
Administrative & process activities
- Redesign editorial workflows and contribution processes.
- Document standards, decisions, and best practices for long-term maintenance.
- Provide clear communication and regular project updates to the community.
