Özge Gençay-Üstün

Özge is an objects conservator with a concentration on ethnographic and archaeological materials. She has been an AIC Wiki contributor since 2013. Her contact information can be found on the AIC Directory.

Work Experience

Özge is Assistant Conservator at the Autry Museum of the American West. In addition, she is field conservator at the Alalakh/Tell Atchana excavation. Previously she had pre-program internships at the Freer and Sackler Galleries, National Museum of the American Indian, National Gallery of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Walters Art Museum, UMD McKeldin Library, and Nishio Paper Conservation Studio.

Education

Özge holds an MA in conservation of ethnographic and archaeological materials from the UCLA/Getty Conservation Program and a BSc in chemistry from Istanbul Technical University. She also has an MA in art history from the University of Maryland, College Park.
