Bruno Vandermeulen is head of the Digitisation Department at KU Leuven Libraries. He is co-founder of VIEW, KU Leuven Core Facility for Heritage Science and Digitisation Technologies, a collaboration between the Book Heritage Lab (Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies) and the Imaging Lab (KU Leuven Libraries). VIEW is a powerful platform to engage in innovative transdisciplinary research.

Bruno has wide experience in inventarisation, digitization and advanced imaging projects of heritage (archaeology, artefacts, documentary heritage) on local, national and international level. As photographer and imaging expert he participates in the development and deployment of research infrastructure such as the Multi-Spectral Portable Light Dome System or Narrow Band Multi-Spectral Imaging systems. He is responsible for the Imaging Lab, the high end digitization and advanced imaging facility of KU Leuven Libraries. The lab has also a strong track record in the development and implementation of international guidelines and workflow on digitization and imaging.
