Work Experience

Alayna was a Senior Research Assistant in the Department of Science Research at the Metropolitan Museum of Art June 2019 - August 2023 working on environmental monitoring projects and materials testing in the Preventive Conservation Science Laboratory. Before this she was a conservator's assistant in a private conservation studio in New York and interned in the Conservation Department at the Brooklyn Museum, Paper Conservation at the Met, and Scientific Research at the Met.

Education

Alayna is a student in the Conservation Center, Institute of Fine Arts - New York University class of 2027.

She received her B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College in 2016. While there, she studied chemistry, art history, and foreign languages. Alayna was introduced to the field of conservation during her junior year studying in Florence where she took a class about the history and techniques of conservation in Italy.
