Mold3.jpg(694 × 477 pixels, file size: 56 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Mold removed from paper with clear tape and examined under a microscope (40 x crossed polars). Macroscopic Appearance: Closer magnification reveals aerial fungal structures. Light Microscopy: Sample composed mainly of pale greenish conidia along with some birefringent (bright under crossed polars) particles. Some conidiophore structures – such as foot cell, vesicles, sterigmata – are apparent, perhaps indicating a species of aspergillus. Photo by Ann Baldwin, 2008.
