Cher Schneider works at the University of Illinois Library in Champaign-Urbana as the Juanita J. and Robert E. Simpson Senior Conservator in the Conservation Unit.She previously was the Andrew W. Mellon Fellow in Paper Conservation at The Art Institute of Chicago. In 2008, she received her Master in Art Conservation specializing in Paper Conservation from Queen's Universityin Kingston, ON. Cher's two professional internships were at UIUC, Conservation Laboratories, and National Gallery of Canada, Department of Prints and Drawings. Cher's background is in Fine Art, Painting and Drawing after which, she pursued her interest and training in art conservation while working at The Pennsylvania Art Conservatory for three years as a paper conservator while studying Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
