Karissa Muratore is a third-year graduate student in the Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC) majoring in Library and Archives Conservation and a recent recruit of the Book and Paper Wiki. She is spending her third year developing her knowledge base and hand skills at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., during which time she hopes to contribute to this wiki which has been a vital resource during her own studies.

Though she feels a special resonance with Library and Archives conservation, she strongly believes that continued interdisciplinary cooperation will lead to a more positive and effective future for the field and its practitioners. Thus, she is resolved to stay curious and to always encourage open communication between the different art conservation specialties—a goal that aligns well with the AIC Wiki.

Karissa has recently interned at the University of Michigan, Indiana Historical Society, American Philosophical Society, and Winterthur Museum. In her free time, she enjoys reading, collecting greeting cards and wrapping paper, building furniture for family and friends, and planning her future tree house.
