Jmikes is the username for Jen Mikes (she/her), a member of the Patricia H. & Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department at SUNY Buffalo State College, Class of 2022. Her major is objects conservation.

Pre-program Experience

Jen Mikes has held pre-program positions at The University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Preservation Society of Newport County, and additional institutions in the Philadelphia, PA area.

Education

Jen will receive her degree in art conservation in 2022 from the Patricia H. & Richard E. Garman Art Conservation Department at SUNY Buffalo State College. She earned her B.A. in Biology from Franklin & Marshall College, with a Minor in Studio Art.

Special Interests

Jen's special interests include the conservation of objects, archaeological materials, and wooden artifacts. She is interested in preventive conservation and integrated pest management, as well as the role of sustainability in art conservation.
