Help talk:Citations

From MediaWiki

This page should be updated, as I don't think it's actually using the correct code for references.

Per the "Help" menu on the wiki editor itself, this is how you make a reference:

Page text.<ref name="test">[http://www.example.org Link text], additional text.</ref>

Then, you can make a section (with header) at the bottom of the page, and call it "References". In that section, just put the following tag:

<references />

and it will automatically display a properly ordered and numbered list of all references used on the page. --Smorgan (talk) 15:06, 20 July 2014 (CDT)

I just saw this discussion. I was using the posted directions and they did work. Should we also add to this section something about format/style. I understood the AIC-wiki is using Chicago 16th/JAIC style. Is there information about that posted somewhere else?I thought so, but I can't find it. I am happy to work on this, but I would like some guidance as I am new! http://www.conservation-wiki.com/wiki/User:LMcCann--LMcCann (talk) 15:53, 6 May 2015 (CDT)
