Jean Tétreault graduated from the University of Montreal with an M.Sc. in analytical chemistry. In 1989, he joined the Canadian Conservation Institute where he now serves as an advisor and researcher on environmental guidelines for the care of collections, and display and storage products. Jean was President of the Canadian Association for Conservation of Cultural Property (CAC) from 1995 to 1997; he acted as lead author on guidelines on pollutant for the Chapter “Museums, Galleries, Libraries and Archives” of the 2019 ASHRAE Application Handbook. He has given many seminars in Canada on lightings and on display cases and gave seminar on display and storage products around the world. From November 2003 to March 2005, and in 2011, Jean was acting manager of the Section Preventive Conservation Services at CCI. He is a board member of the Indoor Air Pollution, Working Group which holds conferences every two years since 1998. He is volunteer ski patrol in the National Gatineau Park since winter 1999.
