Arianna Johnston (née Carini) is an objects conservator based in the Washington, DC area. She received her BA in Fine Arts from Alfred University in upstate New York and her MSc in Conservation Practice from Cardiff University in Wales. Her interests include modern composite objects and health and safety practices in conservation. Previously, Arianna completed a two-year Engen Conservation Fellowship at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, where she researched the characterization and treatment of corroded cadmium plating. Arianna is a director for the Washington Conservation Guild, an associate member of the American Institute for Conservation, and the e-editor for the Health and Safety Committee/Network.
