This Discussion Page has some older suggestions that were rotated off the main help wanted page. Don't let that stop you from contributing - we just didn't want to clutter up the page too much!--Kkelly (talk) 15:07, 16 October 2018 (CDT)

Social Media Liaison[edit source]

If you are social media savvy and want to help us publicize updates to the Wiki, please get in touch at bookandpapergroup.wiki@gmail.com.

Housings Contributors[edit source]

Since its creation in 2013, the Housings page has slowly but surely grown. Over 10 conservators collaborated to add great content but there are still many more opportunities to add pictures, links, text, and directions that may be useful for your colleagues.

Mold Contributors[edit source]

The mold chapter in the Paper Conservation Catalog is in need of two or thee new compilers. This is one-year commitment (usually starting and ending at the Annual Meeting). Wiki editing experience is not necessary, but practical or scientific (or both) experience with mold remediation is appreciated. We are particularly interested in using the Wiki to point to great, up-to-date content elsewhere, rather than trying to reinvent the wheel.

Treatment Tips[edit source]

In 2016, the BPG Annual Meeting Tips Sessions page was created to collect treatment tips and creative solutions presented at the BPG Tips Sessions at the 2013, 2014, and 2016 AIC Annual Meetings. If you presented tips at these or other Annual Meetings, please contribute to this page. For treatment tips that have not been presented at an Annual Meeting, contact the BPG Wiki Coordinators at bookandpapergroup.wiki@gmail.com, who will help you find a place for them on the Wiki.

Lexicon[edit source]

Help us build the AIC Lexicon and tidy up chapters from the Paper Conservation Catalog and the Book Conservation Wiki. There are many chapters of the PCC that were written with glossaries (e.g. Adhesives for Paper and Written Documentation (PCC)). The glossary for Written Documentation has already been moved to a separate page. We would like to re-format all of the terms similar to the AIC Lexicon, leaving the words in their original glossary and adding them to the Lexicon. Tackling one word or a handful of words would be a short, but valuable project. Dive right in, or contact us at bookandpapergroup.wiki@gmail.com if you have questions.

Bibliographies[edit source]

In October 2016, the Wiki Bibliography subgroup sent out a Call for Content for Foxing, Surface Cleaning, Leaf Attachment/Sewing Repair and Imaging and Digitization which resulted in significant updates and improvements to those bibliographies. Additions are always welcome, however!

Technical Fixes[edit source]

There are several technical improvements that we would like to make across the BPG Wiki. If you are interested in taking this on, please get in touch. Please note, we should only do this for BPG pages, and not interfere in the formatting of other specialty groups.

  • Replace link-to-page with link-to-pdf for all pdfs. Add "(PDF)" to link to warn users.
