A leaf in a 17th century textblock that is an example of paper that should not be flattened. The dimensionality of the paper is evidence (among other characteristics) that the book was never bound, which at that time would have involved being beaten with a hammer (an flattening the paper somewhat). This paper is as it was when it came off the press: an interesting survival to be preserved as is. Photo by Susie Cobbledick.
