Taking into account the limited resources on the planet, we plan to follow the latest research that impacts our recommendations for display, storage and travel of objects under our care to ensure that our protocols are sound and reasonable.

-	This page on Sustainable Practices in conservation is maintained by members of the AIC Committee for Sustainable Practice in Conservation (formerly known as the Green Task Force). The initial mission of the group was to evaluate US conservators’ current awareness of sustainability and how we are working towards more appropriate practices in museums and private businesses. ~~We also aim to evaluate what you and the institutions you are associated with can and should do towards the worldwide goal of environmental sustainability.~~	+	This page on Sustainable Practices in conservation is maintained by members of the AIC Committee for Sustainable Practice in Conservation (formerly known as the Green Task Force). While conservation has grown in its understanding of materials and environments, we are now poised to take this body of knowledge one step further. We can do this by creating work environments, laboratory and treatment practices and examining overall environmental control parameters that are more sustainable and thereby reduce our collective carbon footprint. The status quo is no longer considered sustainable. Through sound practices and decision making, we can make a positive impact. Change does not always come easily but change we must. Our intent today is to educate our colleagues as well as to provide information and hopefully empowerment for making viable choices that are more environmentally friendly and sustainable.
